From Milan to the Lakes

I'll be staying in Milan for three nights in September and want to drive up to the lakes for day trips. Any suggestions? www.upatthevillatravels.com

Re: From Milan to the Lakes

Hi Linda - I suggest you drive up to Como, park your car and take the boat around the lake.  If you do that you can get on and off the boat at the little towns that are all along Lake Como.  If it is a nice day take the slow boat and treat yourself to the beautiful views.  There is also a faster boat if you are short on time.

You can get a boat schedule in Como and plan your day accordingly.  In September it should be beautiful and not as crowded as it can be in the summer.

Re: From Milan to the Lakes

I agree with Jackie, go to Como and take a boat ride.  Be careful driving up there, it can be a harrowing drive.  The train ride from Milan to Como is pretty short and if I recall correctly the trains run frequently.
