Well I know I'm here too late to help you but Perhaps It can helps you next time or for your next trip and I think The easiest destination is Castiglione del Lago (Trasimeno), which is a 2.0/2.5 hour trip by unreserved regionale train from Roma Termini Station.

From Rome to Lake Trasimeno, you have to move about 190 km. It means it's journey of about 2 hours. I am not sure about price.
