Paola Asquer - Shopping - Cagliari, Italy
4 years ago

Paola Asquer created unique pieces of jewelry in traditional materials and modern gold, silver, coral and precious stones. Her pieces are simple and beautiful and range from earrings to brooches to wine glasses wrapped in silver.  Paola Asquer trained at the Laboratory G. Asquer (her father) and the Academy of Art in Perugia.  She has shown her jewelry all over the world.

Antonio Farci - Shopping - Assemini, Italy
4 years ago
Antonio Farci is a true articst.  His whimsical depictions of animals in ceramics are terrific.  You can find ceramic chickens, cows, sheep and other animals in a style traditional to Sardinia.  Farci fires his ceramics in a wood-burning oven which is the historic way that ceramics have been made in Sardinia.

Al Tonno di Corsa - Restaurant - Cagliari, Italy

Al Tonno di Corsa serves typical Sardinia food or at least I think it is typical.  The menu is heavy on fish which was fresh and tasty.  There is a nice outside terrace.  I would recommend this restaurant.

Gallura - Restaurant - Olbia, Italy

Gallura is a restaurant that is part of a small hotel.  The food is out of this world and is supposed to be among the best in Sardinia.  The food is traditional to Sardinia.  I had the fish and it was wonderful.

Il Pomodoro - Restaurant - Olbia, Italy

Il Pomodoro is a great little pizzeria.  The pizza is cooked in a wood burning oven so the crust is perfect.

Sottomonte DA Giovannino - Restaurant - Golfo Aranci, Italy
4 years ago
Sottomonte is a wonderful little restaurant near Golfo Aranci.  The food was great but it is the setting that makes it special.  The staff was very attentive.  The restaurant is known for their seafood.  I had ravioli with a seafood filling and it was excellent.  Check the hours because the restaurant may not be open year round.

Sassari Market Sardinia - Shopping - Sassari, Italy
4 years ago
Being a shopper at heart a friend recommended I visit this market on a recent trip to Sardinia.  I loved it.  The market sells an ecelectic selection of new, used (both barely used and very used) items with a few antiques thrown in.  The market is held the last Sunday of the month.

Cagliari Market - Shopping - Cagliari, Italy
4 years ago

I happened on this market on a visit to Cagliari in Sardinia.  If you love flea markets you will love this place - it is great for browsing.  There are a bunch of stands selling antiques (or so they say) and all sorts of crafts.  The market is held the second Sunday of the month.
