Villa Sassi is highly regarded in Turin. Nice views from the restaurant terrace. Cozy ambiance and great local dishes.

The place used to be Amalfi's shipyard. It is where the locals build their vessels during the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, only half of the building remains today. It was destroyed by great storms in the 14th century. The beautiful architecture still stands. There were tiled artwork depicting Amalfi's commercial empire during the earlier century.

Museo del Carta - Shopping - Amalfi, Italy

The trip to Museo del Carta was an educational one. The history of paper is all in this museum. They have a vast collection of books about the origins of paper.

Admission is 4 Euros per person.

Camere Con Vista Hotel Amalfi - Hotels & Hostels - Amalfi, Italy

Camere Con Vista is a quaint B&B surrounded by historical places. It's overlooking the main plaza and on one side, a great view of the bay.

We had personalized service from James, the B&B manager. He picked us up from the airport and brought us to the hotel. The rooms were big and had all the amenities of a standard hotel.

We got a good deal from our travel agent so the rates were reasonable. We'll definitely stay here again on our next vacation.

Vegetable lasagna, anyone?

I just wanted to share this lasagna recipe I found in the internet. It's basically a mushroom and green pepper lasagna. But with the right combination of diffrent cheeses and herbs, the dish tastes as great as a regular meat-based lasagna. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Hearty-Vegetable-Lasagna/Detail.aspx INGREDIENTS 1 (16 ounce) package lasagna noodles 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced 3/4 cup chopped green bell pepper 3/4 cup chopped onion 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 2 (26 ounce) jars pasta sauce 1 teaspoon dried basil 1 (15 ounce) container part-skim ricotta cheese 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 2 eggs 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese DIRECTIONS 1. Cook the lasagna noodles in a large pot of boiling water for 10 minutes, or until al dente. Rinse with cold water, and drain. 2. In a large saucepan, cook and stir mushrooms, green peppers, onion, and garlic in oil. Stir in pasta sauce and basil; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. 3. Mix together ricotta, 2 cups mozzarella cheese, and eggs. 4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spread 1 cup tomato sauce into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer 1/2 each, lasagna noodles, ricotta mix, sauce, and Parmesan cheese. Repeat layering, and top with remaining 2 cups mozzarella cheese. 5. Bake, uncovered, for 40 minutes. Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
