Sitting on the rocks in Riomaggiore, looking up at the brightly painted houses perched precariously on the hills is a great way to spend a few minutes or a few hours. If you are lucky enough to be there on a sunny day the houses will be set against the bright blue sky and the blue-green sea making them almost too picturesque. After your break get up and go walking up and down the streets and alleys of this cute town in Cinque Terre. Shops and restaurants are sprinkled throughout the town. There is a deli type shop where you can buy all the fixings for a picnic which you can take back to your rock and continue gazing at beautiful Riomaggiore.

Riomaggiore is one of the five villages of the Cinque Terre located on the Ligurian coast of Italy. It is one of the most colorful and beautiful villages in all of Italy. Bright houses teeter on the side of a hill overlooking the blue-green waters of the Gulf of Genova. |
