Since the Trevi Fountain was just a couple of blocks from our B&B, we decided to head off to this attraction first. As expected, when my husband and I got there, the place was full of tourists. The statue on the middle was just perfect. It was huge, intimidating but something in it, probably the water, makes it romantic and mysterious.

People were throwing coins, making wishes... It was a lovely sight.

Since I was in the vicinity, I trudged down the piazza to see the Trevi Fountain in person. I've read a lot things about Trevi especially the legendary coin throwing. Legend has it that if you throw a coin in the fountain, you are  ensured that you'll return to Rome. Tourists were aplenty that day. I did throw a coin for good luck.

Mornings draw more crowd as I have observed. I paid another visit to the Trevi in the evening. It's more serene and relaxing.

As you emerge from the narrow cobble stone streets that open into Trevi Square you will be greeted by the breathtaking site of the Trevi Fountain, one of the largest and most beautiful statues in the world.

The Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi in Italian) in Rome is located in the heart of Rome's historic center and is a site that should not be missed by anyone visiting Rome.

The Trevi Fountain is located at the meeting of three roads (tre vie). The fountain was built at the end of an aqueduct (Aqua Virgo) that was constructed in 19BC.

The fountain is a perfect stopping point in the middle of your walking tour of Rome. You can grab a bottle of water from one of the nearby shops and relax on the steps surrounding the fountain. The Trevi Fountain is located in Trevi Square near the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona.
