My wife and I really came for this. We took the gondola in mid-afternoon for a tour of Venice's narrow canals. Our gondolier  Carlos was very accommodating. Aside from singing romantic Italian songs for me and my wife, he also chatted with us and narrated a bit of the Grand Canal's history.

Needless to say, we enjoyed it. Venice is such a lovely place.

The romantic ride in the Gondola is simply unforgettable. There was a long queue of tourists when we got there. We patiently waited for our turns. Good thing it was a breezy morning, just the perfect weather to cruise around Venice's narrow canals.

A Venice vacay would not be complete without taking the Gondola ride. The rates are quite steep but it was well worth it. We came for the experience anyway.
