This church is awesome! The Basilica di San Marco houses a splendid collection of art and historical artifacts. They say that Venice's grandeur is always reflected on the Basilica's enrichment. After seeing the church myself, I've only got one word for it - opulence. The golden mosaic's were simply amazing.

Too bad that at present, only a portion of the church is open to visitors.

The Basilica di San Marco is a sight to behold. This magnificent church is located at St Mark's Square. The wall to wall architecture and the paintings were so beautiful. We went there in the morning to avoid the long queue. Too bad that we weren't allowed to take photos inside. We had to leave our bags and our cameras behind. 

A definite must-see in Venice.
