This hotel has the most beautiful view of any hotel I have stayed in anywhere, anyplace.
Located at the top of a hill you actually look out over the backside of the lake. You can spend hours watching the boats, the sun, the clouds, the mountains, etc.
It is a hike to get up to the hotel, if you are in shape you can walk from the ferry to the hotel, but it is straight uphill. If you don't feel up to it, call the hotel to see if they can arrange a taxi.
The hotel has a wide assortment of rooms. I stayed in an extremely small room that was fine for one person, but was more of a cell than a room, on the other hand it was several stories up with french windows opening out on to the lake. My friends had a double room with a beautiful patio porch with lounge chairs. Some rooms are large with private patios. Be sure to ask for a room with a view.
The breakfast was excellent, though if you want Italian coffee you have to ask for it otherwise if they think you are American they will bring you American style coffee.
You will have to walk to get to restaurants and shops. The hotel restaurant is popular and books up quickly for dinner. There are a number of places at the hotel where you can sit and enjoy the view including the pool area. Be sure to walk down the back side of the hotel to the lake, there is a little path next to the hotel. You will experience a different Bellagio away from the tourist area. |
