Definitely a must-see in Rome. The Coliseum is one of the most visited plces in Rome after St. Peter's Basilica. The ruins is still a sight to behold. Massive in size and teeming with historical memories. The architecture, despite the age, is very impressive. It takes you back to the time when gladiators, mostly slaves, criminals and prisoners of war, fight to death for entertainment. As this is a major tourist hot spot, make sure that you get there early to avoid the long queue. Entrance to the Coliseum also include entry to the Palatine Hall which could be accessed via the Roman Forum. |
