The Nuova Italia has been a hotel since 1920, new by Florence’s standards. The staff is very helpful, helping guests with reservations for museums and restaurants, recommendations for shops and planning day trips. The rooms are medium to small but every room has a bathroom, is clean and has good mattresses. For a board rated 2 star hotel it is comfortable, though it can be noisy early in the early morning when the vendors are moving their carts to the Mercato Centrale.
