This stunning palazzo, built by Michelozzo, was home to the Medici family for nearly 100 years. Inside is the Cappella dei Magi by Benozzo Gozzoli, one of the most beautiful chapels in Florence. Frescoes of the Procession of the Magi fill the small chapel from floor to ceiling and are beautifully painted in vivid colors with faces of public figures of the day in the crowd. Gozzoli is in the crowd, with his name written on his small red hat. Members of the Medici family can be identified by their ostrich-feather emblem. Today the Palazzo Medici Riccardi is home to the offices of the Town Prefecture.
