The Piazzale Micheangelo is a famous observation point with a spectacular view of the city. It sits on the hill just south of the Arno river. This panoramic view has been reproduced several times in post cards and probably has been a favorite location shoot of the movie industry.

The Piazzale was designed by Florentine architect Giuseppe Poggi. There were copies of Michelangelo's works of art on display. And I must say, this place is one of my favorites. 

The Piazzale Michelangelo is best-known for its breathtaking views of Florence and the Arno valley. It was Giuseppe Poggi who designed the major restructuring of the site. He also created a monument to pay tribute to Michelangelo's works. Today, the museum is now a restaurant.

This place is teeming with locals, tourists and vendors. 

A bronze replica of Michelangelo's David is seen here in the Piazza.  

It's a nice place to traipse around Florence.
