Accommodations in Lombardia
|
|
| Lombardia is such a gorgous area! It's nice to drive from town to town- I found this area to be so quaint and tranquil. I especially like the lakes. I don't know in what area you are looking to stay, but this site has really neat apartments in milan that are quite modern and very central:

I do think though that a nicetrip though would be to stay near the lakes, as these areas are so idyllic. It's espcially nice to go in the summertime, although this is high season and they can be croweded with tourists. If you are thinking if staying by the lakes, this site has some apartments along the lakes:

And here's another site that has a variety of options:

Hope this helps! |

| I would also have to say Florence! Though maybe I would think about going somewhere smaller and quieter, like the Piedmont area. I've visited a bunch of towns there and I found them so quaint and tranquil. |

Books Set In Italy

| This is probably a typical book, but I really enjoyed 'Under the Tuscan Sun' by Frances Mayes. It's a light, optimistic book that has also been turned into a movie (which I found pretty bad). I also like 'An Italian Education' by Tim Parks. He's an American writing about the general Italian life he observes and experiences while living there with his family. |

| This recipes looks great! I am vegetarian and am always looking for recipes like this. I also like the idea of substutting eggplant for some vegetables- don't Italians cook a lot with eggplant? |
