Unbelievable view of the canal.  A little expensive but a beautiful place to stay.  Pay the extra and get a room on the canal.

You can cut the cost by not eating at the hotel.  A hamburger meal was incredibly expensive.  So pick up wine at stores nearby and enjoy the view from your balcony.

June is a perfect time to go to Venice.  Not too hot to enjoy your stay.

Directly overlooking the Grand Canal The Gritti has an unsurpassed view of Venice, the Palace of the Doge Gritti. Commissioned in 1525 as the residence of the Doge of Venice, Andrea Gritti, the Gritti Palace was later used as the official residence of the Vatican's ambassadors to Venice. The hotel is now part of the Starwood Luxury Collection and is full of museum-quality art and antiques. The guest rooms and suites are decorated in traditional Venetian style which means they are opulent or in some opinions perhaps a bit gaudy. Featured on the 2007 Condé Nast Traveler Gold List
