1.Previous trips to Rome, Venice, Florence decades ago I used rail pass only. Next time, with different spouse, I probably want to visit Sienna, Pisa, and other places in Tuscany, as well as the obvious city of Florence spots. Is rental car worth the hassle and risk?
2. If rely on train & bus, need hub with short walk or local bus to train or bus station. Ideal hub town if using only public transportation?
3. If rental car, best hub location? Out in country?
