Finally, a real vacation! After the traumatic experience with the airport hotel, I checked in at CasaSerena Hotel on the recommendation of my friend. It was a bed and breakfast style, a bit pricey but that seems to be the going rate for B&B's in Florence, anyway.

It's located in a quiet neighborhood away from the city. The place was clean and the service was professional. The owner even made suggestion on which attractions to see first. The bus station to the city was a few blocks away. I can say that transport is okay. 

The breakfast was homemade food. Nothing fancy, just enough.

Casa Serena is a true gem in the heart of Firenze. The location is away from the noise of the city but not far enough not to be accessible from the Casa. There's a bus station and likewise a train station to take us to the city.

Casa Serena is a B&B. Nice, homey, spacious and very comfortable. And not to mention, the rates are very reasonable. You'll get your money's worth here. 

There are plenty of restaurants outside the Casa that offers local dishes. It's definitely worth a splurge. The prices are easy on the pocket, by the way. Plus, the food is awesome.
