Giorgio Nason - Shopping - Venice, Italy

It was my wife who dragged me to visit Giorgio Nason. She wanted a souvenir from Venice and knowing women, what better way to please their hearts is to take them to a jewelry shop.

The shop is not exactly the diamond-gold-gems type, they were what they call as organic. It looks like trinkets to me. Anyway, my wife bought some necklaces and bangles she could use to accessorize her wardrobe. She was a happy woman with her purchases. So I'm giving this place 5 stars!

Scuola Grande di San Rocco - Sites & Things To Do - Venice, Italy
2 years ago

The Scuola Grande Di San Rocco is one huge architectural masterpiece. It was as if we're transported to Rome just standing in front of this church. There were paintings. lots of them inside. I couldn't recall all the titles of the paintings and who's done who. My wife is better at remembering things. Anyway, I recommend that you get yourself a guide. It tells much about the history behind each painting. It cost us around less than 10 Euros.

Again, another must-see in Venice. The next time we find ourselves in Venice, we'll come back to the Rocco in a heartbeat.

Grand Canal Restaurant - Restaurant - Venice, Italy
2 years ago

The Grand Canal Restaurant was one of the finest restaurants we've ever been to. Perhaps, it was the ambiance or the enigmatic air that comes with the city of Venice.

When we got to the restaurant, we requested to be seated outside because we want to see the gondolas passing by. I think the food was secondary to the dining experience. We've enjoyed the food, by the way. It's just that the location makes the dining experience a little more dramatic.

We highly recommend this place. Great ambiance and great food!

Ponte di Rialto - Sites & Things To Do - Venice, Italy
2 years ago

Ponte di Rialto was minutes away from our hotel. Plus, it's one of the places that we should not miss for the world. That's according to the concierge who gave us directions to the Rialto.

We took the vaporetto or water bus to get there. The Rialto is an arch building built in the 16th century. It was that old and amazingly, it's still in one piece!

Gondola - Sites & Things To Do - Venice, Italy
2 years ago

My wife and I really came for this. We took the gondola in mid-afternoon for a tour of Venice's narrow canals. Our gondolier  Carlos was very accommodating. Aside from singing romantic Italian songs for me and my wife, he also chatted with us and narrated a bit of the Grand Canal's history.

Needless to say, we enjoyed it. Venice is such a lovely place.

Basilica di San Marco - Sites & Things To Do - Venice, Italy
2 years ago

This church is awesome! The Basilica di San Marco houses a splendid collection of art and historical artifacts. They say that Venice's grandeur is always reflected on the Basilica's enrichment. After seeing the church myself, I've only got one word for it - opulence. The golden mosaic's were simply amazing.

Too bad that at present, only a portion of the church is open to visitors.

A SINA HOTEL Palazzo SantAngelo Hotel Venice - Hotels & Hostels - Venice, Italy
2 years ago

We spent our honeymoon in Rome then moved to Venice on the final leg of our trip. We still have a week to spare so we decided to move to the romantic city of City. We stayed at the Palazzo Sant'Angelo. The view in our room overlooked the Grand Canal. Beautiful.

Great location. Great price=expensive. If you don't mind paying for the extra price, I really recommend the Palazzo Sant'Angelo.

We had a huge room, breakfast was more than enough (there were lots of selection) and the service was fantastic.
