Franco Bertolino makes Sicilian carts and he makes a lot of them.  His shop is located behind the apse of the Palermo cathedral.  He makes the traditional two wheeled Sicilian carts painted in bright yellow, reds and oranges.  The carts feature traditional Sicilian scenes.  Bertolino comes from a long line of cart makers and he himself has been at it for several decades.  Unfortunately Bertolino was at risk of being kicked out of his shop by the Palermo archdiocese due to a lease dispute.  Bertolino paints the carts himself and is one of the last to produce these authentic and traditional carts.  Hopefully a resolution will be found and he will be allowed to stay in business.
