| The Hotel Mediterraneo Palace is located in new Ragusa but you will want to spend most of your time in old Ragusa which is the more interesting part of the city. The hotel is a little startling when you first walk in. Both new and old Ragusa are old by most of our standards, but the hotel is art deco. It is stark and spare. It is also clean and quiet. The main downside is that the elevator is veeeeeerrrrryyyyy slow and if you are staying on one of the top floors you will definitely need the elevator. The breakfast buffet was just average, though I have to confess that we had an enormous dinner the night before so I was not particularly hungry. The hotel is about 5km (3+miles) from the old part of the city so you will need to take a taxi or find a shuttle bus. It would be a strenuous walk. The hotel is located across the street from a rather impressive church. |
