My husband and I stayed at the Al Ponte Mocenigo Hotel for 3 nights.  The room was great, clean, large very well appointed and with comfortable beds.  Our bathroom was also large and clean with wonderfully fluffy towels.  The hotel is very near the Grand Canal.  There is  a vaparetto stop nearby.  The staff was very friendly, polite and helpful.  They gave us restaurant recommendations and provided us with maps and helpful tips on getting around Venice.  We were lucky to have nice weather so we were able to eat breakfast in the courtyard.  I should mention that the breakfast was outstanding.  The hotel is a little off the tourist track, about a 10 minute walk to the Rialto which suited us.  I would highly recommend this hotel.
