I have been to the Valley of the Temples many times over the last 20 years. It is a mystical surreal place, and definitely takes you back in time. It is certainly a lot more captivating when viewed at night, but recent changes to entrance times makes that dificult in certain summer periods when closing time is earlier than nightfall. Things may have changed now.... Can't go to Sicily without seeing these, but do try and find out a little of thier history

The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento is spectacular. The ruins are spread across a fairly wide area. You cannot walk in the temples and ruins but you can walk on well maintained paths that wind around the buildings. Be sure to visit the temples at night as they are lit up producing vivid images. There is a small store and refreshments at the entrance to the park.
