Monreale is a beautiful cathedral know for its mosaics.  The area around the cathedral is known for its touristy stores and stalls.  The one exception is Elisa Messina who sells beautiful ceramics, especially nativity scenes.  In true Italian fashion her nativity scenes include everyone in the village including sheep and goats and not just the manager, Jesus, Mary and Joseph.    She also has a selection of plates and pitchers decorated with grapes and leaves.  And just in case you have been wanting one, you an also buy baptismal fonts.  The store is located near the cathedral.  This more art than crafts and she has shown her work all over the world.
