One of the most memorable parts of my visit to Rome was la Bocca della Verita located outside this 6th century church. If one places their hand in the 'mouth of truth' and tells a lie, legend has it the statue will bite it off. The church is worth a visit on its own, but this iconic statue (featured in the movie Roman Holiday) should not be missed.
